Cause Covid, no “fires” this year for the most popular Venice Festival

Opening of the VOTIVO PONTE connecting the Rafts with the Church of the Redeemer to the island of Giudecca (from 8:30 p.m. Open until midnight on Sunday, July 19)

REDENTER LUMINARIES – Saturday and Sunday luminaries along the banks of the Rafts and Giudecca.

 

REDENTORE ‘FLOATINGS – from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, touring music in the Grand Canal, San Marco Basin, Zattere and Giudecca.

1)”Boat of the Mercà” Batisto Coco

The danceable rhythms of Latin American music with the Venetian accent and cadence, contaminated by spanish language and culture. Salsa, mambo and cha cha cha, parodies of everyday life and humor, for over 35 years.

Max Bellio (vocals), Paolo Vianello (piano), Marco Musoni (bass), Eddy de Fanti (timbales), Gianni Scanu (congas), Maurizio Pegoraro (bongos), Maurizio Scomparin (trumpet), Giorgio Schiavon (Sax).

 

2)”Limòn’s Boat” Josmil Neris and Laguna Swing

A singer and backing vocalist of Dominican origin who grew up in Venice, with a dark and engaging voice, strongly influenced by black music, jazz, soul, pop and RnB. A repertoire that also pays homage to the great classics of Italian and international music.

Accompanying her is her inseparable Laguna Swing band: Marco Ponchiroli (piano), Giovanni Masiero (sax), Alvise Seggi (bass), Marco Carlesso (drums).

 

3)”Boat of the Frutariòl” Furio and the Ska-J

A Venetian group “playing for 98% jazz and 2% ska”, as the group leader Marco Forieri (Pitura Freska) likes to point out.

 

4)”Boat of the Graspi de Ua” Pitura Stail

The first tribute band to the historic Venetian band Pitura Freska. A musical revival, “Reggae & Roll”, in which the Venetian dialect is the protagonist.

4.45 p.m. Regatta on 2-rowers

7 p.m. – Giudecca Island, Votive Mass at the Church of the Redeemer
